Instructions for Ward A

Family Literacy, Writing, and Computer Workshops

The City will sponsor an event every Friday throughout libraries in Ward A that provide literacy, writing, and computer education workshops for residents.

Estimated Cost: $50,000

   

Saturday Night Dinner and Dancing for Seniors

The City will sponsor a Dinner and Dancing event every Saturday evening at alternating senior centers throughout Ward A.

Estimated Cost: $35,000

   

Outdoor Jazz Concert at Mary McLeod Bethune Park

The City will sponsor an outdoor Jazz concert one evening this year at the new Mary McLeod Bethune Park.

Estimated Cost: $10,000

   

Water Fountain in Bayside Park

Replace the current water fountain at Bayside Park with a new one which also includes a bottle refilling station.

Resurface the Tennis Court in McGovern Park

McGovern Park in Country Village has a tennis court that is a bit worse for wear. These funds will go to resurfacing the court to improve residents' enjoyment.

Estimated Cost: $50,000

   

Holiday Lights in Columbia Park

During the Holiday Season The City will setup lights and decorative arrangements inside the park for residents' enjoyment.

Estimated Cost: $10,000

   

Trash and Litter Cleanup and Campaigns

A general Cleanup Initiative. The City will install new trash and recycling receptacles throughout Ward A, install several pet waste bag stations, and sponsor a campaign around cleanliness and litter prevention.

Martiniak Enright Park Improvements

The City will install additional flowers, planters and benches within the park to enhance residents' enjoyment of the area.
