Plant Trees in Ward F

The City will plant 30 trees in Ward F to increase the tree canopy and beautify the city streetscape.

Estimated Cost: $30,000

   

Environmental Classes and Demonstrations

The City will sponsor 4 events for the education and demonstration around environmental issues and composting. The demonstration will be for community members and school children to teach the role compost can play in food waste recycling, storm water management, and soil health.

Estimated Cost: $5,000

   

Big Brother, Big Sister Program

The City will sponsor a budget for 50 Big Brothers and Sisters to mentor and bond with children in Ward F.

Estimated Cost: $20,000

   

Small Business Internship Program

The City will sponsor a paid summer internship to 10 people in Ward F to work and learn from small businesses in the area.

Water Fountain at Ercel F Webb Park (Lafayette Park)

The City will upgrade and repair the water fountain at Ercel F Webb Park.

Estimated Cost: $5,000

   

Martial Arts Classes in Parks in Ward F

The City will sponsor an instructor to provide 4 classes teaching Martial Arts alternating in parks across Ward F.

Estimated Cost: $5,000

   

Trash and Litter Cleanup and Campaigns

A general Cleanup Initiative. The City will install new trash and recycling receptacles throughout Ward F, install several pet waste bag stations, and sponsor a campaign around cleanliness and litter prevention.

Estimated Cost: $50,000

   

Improve Park on Grand St, between Jersey Ave and Monmouth St

The City will install a bus shelter and water fountain at the park to provide cover from the elements while waiting for the bus to arrive.

Estimated Cost: $10,000

   

Financial Literacy and Sewing Classes

The City will sponsor 4 events in Ward F to provide education on financial literacy and also a workshop on sewing and repairing clothes.
