Broadway Live Musical Theater

Saratoga Arts, working with Home Made Theater, seeks funding to support a family-friendly Broadway Live Musical Theater in Congress Park on a Sunday afternoon, open and free to the public. Funds will be used to hire an orchestra and other related costs.

Urban Forestry Project

Sustainable Saratoga proposes that large-growing, native and near-native shade trees be planted on specific high-visibility streets. Such trees will be, for example, cool the city's environment by reducing heat from structures; purify the air; and minimize run-off preventing the spread of pollutants. Funds will augment the budget of Department of Public Works for planting and maintaining trees.

Youth Art Programs

CREATE Saratoga seeks to provide expressive art programming to underserved and marginalized youth within the city of Saratoga Springs. This funding will complement efforts by the Recreation Department and help make these programs more accessible.

Community Free Bike Repair

Bikeatoga's proposal if funded will allow Bikeatoga to travel to members in the community who do not have the ability to bring their bikes to Bikeatoga for repairs. The funds will be used to purchase spare parts needed to repair the bicycles, such as tires, brakes, locks, lights, handlebars, etc.

Native Flower Planting

Replace the annual flowers planted downtown and at city entrances with perennials - specifically plants native to the Northeast. Native plants need less water and do not need to be planted annually, so less labor is involved. Sites suggested are along Broadway and Union Avenue. Department of Public Works works with an expert as necessary for plant selection, and DPW will determine the final location of pilot gardens

Curling Pilot

The proposal seeks to encourage the sport of curling in Saratoga Springs. These funds would be used to cover ancillary costs after the Recreation Department receives free equipment from USA Curling Association in support of curling meets.

Outdoor ice skating at Congress Park

The proposal is for an outdoor skating area for recreational use. Ice skating at your own risk will be in Congress Park. The city Recreation Department will determine the specific pond location and use these funds to cover ancillary expenses.

Community Garden

Provide a sustainable, environmentally friendly way for the Jefferson and Vanderbilt Terraces community to grow its own produce for consumption and distribution in the neighborhood. Funds will be used to create a community garden on the property of the Terraces.

Saratoga Dog Park Water Fountain

Saratoga Spa Dog Park has been a popular meeting place for people and dogs since 2015 when the park was installed. The park currently does not have potable water. The proposal, asks for a water fountain to be installed
