Community members will be engaged in the design process to reflect the area's cultural identity and strengthen ties to Jackson Ward.

This project will install a new bus shelter equipped with a bench and trash can at this high-traffic stop. Providing adequate shelter will improve passenger comfort, protect riders from the elements, and encourage public transit use.

This project will install a new bus shelter equipped with a bench and trash can at this high-traffic stop. Providing adequate shelter will improve passenger comfort, protect riders from the elements, and encourage public transit use.

E. Improve Crosswalk Safety at Allen Circle

This project will install a pedestrian crossing signal at the west side intersection of Monument Ave and North Allen Ave (Allen Circle). This improvement aims to reduce pedestrian-related traffic incidents and make the area safer for walkers and cyclists.

F. Install Trash Cans in High-Traffic Areas

This project will place additional trash cans in key locations to address the lack of waste disposal in areas hosting public events, such as Art 180, Gallery 5, and 2nd Street. These bins will help reduce litter and maintain cleaner public spaces for residents and visitors.

I. Plant Trees in High Heat-Index Areas in Jackson Ward, Carver, Newtown West and Scott’s Addition

This project will plant trees in Jackson Ward, Carver, Newtown West, and Scott’s Addition to combat urban heat islands caused by excessive pavement and a lack of shade. Increasing tree cover will lower temperatures, improve air quality, and enhance community well-being.
