Welcome to the Participatory Budgeting electronic ballot for the 33rd Ward in Chicago (PB33), courtesy of the Stanford Crowdsourced Democracy Team. By participating in the PB33 election, you can help decide how to spend public funds on community infrastructure in the 33rd Ward.

On this website you can familiarize yourself with the project proposals for the 33rd Ward's Participatory Budgeting vote. You will be deciding how you want to allocate $1 million of the ward's aldermanic menu budget for 2021.

First select the percentage of the 2021 33rd Ward aldermanic menu budget you want to be devoted exclusively to street resurfacing. Then select projects you would like the remaining 2021 33rd Ward aldermanic menu budget to be spent on. You may choose up to five (5) projects.

After casting your vote:

we ask that you take just a few minutes to participate in a short online research ballot comparing projects and their costs. This is part of Stanford's academic research, and is completely voluntary. You can also participate in a short survey to help us learn a little bit about the voters in our PB election. UIC’s Great Cities Institute is collecting this data to help us do a better job in engaging and informing the community in the future. This survey is also completely voluntary.

Voting is open to all residents of the Ward ages 14 and up, regardless of citizenship status.
