Welcome to the Central New York Community Foundation’s participatory budgeting project voting platform, using software designed by the Stanford Crowdsourced Democracy Team. 

Open voting periods:

April 20-May 1: Closed online-only voting by participatory budgeting delegates only

May 2 9:00 am-9:00 pm: Online and in-person voting is open to the general public

On the ballot, you will find four proposals designed by local nonprofit organizations (BABY B.A.C.K. Inc., Syracuse Peacemaking Project, United Way CNY and Village Birth International and the Sankofa Healing Center) seeking to increase lead testing of Syracuse children. When you cast your vote, you will decide which of the four proposals should be awarded $150,000. Please consider which project you think will best address lead poisoning, support for affected families, advocacy and education.

In order to vote, you must be 16 years old of age and a resident of the city of Syracuse.

How to vote online

When you click "vote now", you will be given an option to have a unique code texted to your cell phone or emailed to you. The texting option will provide you with your code immediately. The email option will provide you with your code within a timely manner.

When you register, you will be asked to provide your name and email address. Please note that this is solely for the purposes of informing you of future updates. Your vote will be submitted anonymously and not be tied to any identifying information.

How to vote in-person

In-person voting will be held on May 2, 9am-9pm at Salt City Market (see information below).
