The Volunteer Center “Impact Makers Act Now!”

Your time. Your City. Your Impact. Get out, give back, and connect with other youth in Long Beach through hands-on community service. Impact Makers: Act Now! is a youth-driven summer volunteer program where you'll tackle real issues in your community and gain service hours to put on your resume. Too many in our city struggle with homelessness, hunger, and a lack of resources. In Long Beach, with our city's higher than average poverty rate, rising costs are forcing families to choose between groceries and electricity. These issues are why we need you. This initiative consists of two parts: an eight week program where 24 teens from Long Beach meet once a week to learn about issues in their community and valuable mental health tools and a series of service events open to all Long Beach youth. All volunteers will engage in hands-on service projects–from packing and distributing hygiene kits and meals to families to cleaning up our parks and communities. Hosted by the Volunteer Center of Long Beach, Impact Makers: Act Now! fosters social connectedness, youth empowerment, and real-world impact through community care. This isn’t just about giving back–it's about being the change you want to see. For the full proposal visit https://tinyurl.com/yhasvstx
