Make the City Bloom with a Habitat Corridor

Increase pollinator and bird life in Cambridge by planting native flowers and vegetation along this underused median strip, creating a beautiful habitat corridor linking Fresh Pond and Mt Auburn Cemetery - two major habitats crucial for biodiversity.

Keeping Cambridge Clean

Replace 10 trash barrels and recycling containers, making them rodent-proof and environmentally friendly. Big Belly trash cans will keep the streets clean, prevent pests from being drawn to waste bins, and make it easier to properly dispose of different kinds of waste.

Because Benches Make Life A Little Easier

Fifty additional benches would make public transportation more user-friendly and less stressful. Benches would also make these streets more hospitable for walking, shopping, and socializing for pedestrians of all ages and abilities.

More Bluebike Stations Near Affordable Housing

Install 3 new, Cambridge-owned, Bluebike Stations in neighborhoods that need more affordable and convenient access to bike sharing. This project will support economic inclusivity, helping everyone enjoy the many benefits of bike sharing.

Traffic Calming via Speedometer Signs

Add twenty five speedometers (Speed Feedback Signs) where traffic calming measures are most needed based on existing traffic data and research.

Art honoring the 1971 action by Riverside neighborhood leaders including Black, Feminist & LBTQ+ activists, who occupied the 888 Memorial Dr. building to demand affordable housing, slowing campus expansion & establishing a women’s center.

Canine Comforts

This funding will be used to make improvements to the City’s dog parks, including adding a doggy cleaning station and adding molded dog bowls to water fountains.

Add alternative spaces for teens and adults to exercise and relax outside! This project will include an outdoor fitness station to make exercise accessible for more residents and hammock poles for residents to unwind outside.

Open our Doors

Let’s make our schools, libraries and public buildings more accessible for all by adding automatic door openers to entries that are wheelchair accessible but lack this feature. The City will work with the Disabilities Commission to prioritize locations.
